Experimental alloy norms

In order to be able to maintain dynamism in haute horlogerie, brands must have innovation skills in terms of material discoveries, as well as updating collections with new models. Owing to its Laborotorio di Idee, Panerai has always been one of those brands that have stayed one step ahead in this respect. The laboratory’s discovery, Goldtech™ material, is one of the newest elements that adds dynamism to the new Luminor Marina model, introduced, online, by the manufacture at Watches & Wonders this year.

Discovered by Panerai, Goldtech™ is an alloy produced using copper and platinum with a specific ratio. The material resembles rose gold due to the dominance of copper, and it carries the navy-blue Luminor Marine Goldtech™ with a 44 mm. case to a level of elegance that is suitable for use throughout the week both during the day and the night. On the navy-blue dial with satiné soleil pattern, the hour markers and Arabic numbers are coated with Super-LumiNova™ for better readability. The new design is driven by automatic mechanic P.9010 calibre and it offers a power reserve of 3 days. The watch is water resistant up to approximately 50 meters and it is matched with a navy-blue alligator leather strap with an alternative blue rubber strap that allows for easily adapting to the sea.
